Rapper and singer Tory Lanez talked a big game when he came through DC Lottery Live on Wednesday for a meet and greet and listening session.
“I see myself so big,” he told Tony Redz. “I know I’ma be the biggest artist in the world one day.”
The 24-year-old Toronto native chatted about his creative process, ghostwriting for other artists and how he prioritizes writing music above everything.
“I’d rather go to the studio before I party,” he said.
“I Told You,” Lanez’ debut studio album, drops August 19. It’s full of skits and interludes, as Lanez wanted to tell a story with the album.
The rapper also explained the meaning of the word he uses to describe himself, “‘Swavey’ just means that I’m multi-genre’d,” he told Redz. “I could jump into multiple genres without borders or limitations to where I could take my creativity.”
Before wrapping up the interview, Redz decided to do a little world association with the rapper. What are his thoughts on Drake?
“I’m better than him,” Lanez said simply.
