Chance the Rapper, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne killed it in their daytime television debut.
In a characteristic middle finger to major labels, Chance and a crew of dancers burst into a meeting of suits at “Generic Records” to wreak havoc.
2 Chainz strolls in soon after to rap his verse before Lil Wayne joins the chaotic scene for his turn, changing his final lyric to “And if Cash Money try to stop me, I’m gon’ let ’em rob me/ Yeah, right, like Ryan Lochte.”
According to Chano, the custom set for the trio’s performance was all his idea. On Thursday, he tweeted, “The stage design and performance on Ellen was something I pitched to a few Award & Tv shows, They all said no so THANKS ELLEN LOVE YOU.”
Featured trumpet player Donnie Trumpet was on hand as well.
