It seems we’ve reached new levels of petty.
A Virginia man wasn’t happy he had to pay a sales tax to the Department of Motored Vehicles so he paid the nearly $3,000 bill in pennies.
Yes, you are reading that correctly. Nick Stafford brought 300,000 pennies to the DMV to pay his tax. It took employees over 12 hours to count them according to Buzzfeed.
Stafford has been in a rift with the DMV since September, so he took five wheelbarrows of pennies to the building and paid his $2,987.14 tax bill.
According to The Bristol Herald Courier, Stafford also apparently hired 11 people to help him break open the rolled coins before he delivered them.
