Whitney Houston’s mom has made it clear she’s not interested in Lifetime’s upcoming biopic about her daughter, but the actor playing Bobby Brown in the film has come to the movie’s defense saying he feels that the movie honors her memory.
While Lifetime has begun production on an Aaliyah biopic for the small screen, another script has been written for a full-length feature film about the late star.
After accepting the challenge to play Aaliyah then turning down the offer, Lifetime has replaced Zendaya in the upcoming biopic. But, they didn’t search far as they cast another Nickelodeon star – Alexandra Shipp.
It seems as if the new Aaliyah biopic, set to air on Lifetime, will have to find someone to play R. Kelly.
The film, set to air on Lifetime in 2015, will be directed by actress Angela Bassett, who will be making her directorial debut.
